Tip Toland was at the Shadbolt this past June, where she openly shared her techniques and experiences, during a lecture and a two-day demonstration. She arrived from Washington, with a huge clay head in the back of her car and her sister, Phoebe, in the front. Over the weekend, Tip explained the muscles responsible for our facial expressions and provided many practical tips for creating a portrait in clay. The workshop was an absolute delight from start to finish, as were our two guests.
