"And what is the use of a book," thought Alice,
"without pictures or conversation?"
— Lewis Carroll (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland)
My work...I have been working in clay since 1979. For ten years , while my three children were small, I worked from my home studio, on a professional basis, showing and selling work at shops and galleries in the lower mainland and, occasionally, in Washington State and the interior of B.C., Vancouver Island and Alberta. In 1989 I began teaching children, teen and adult classes in Burnaby schools and community centre locations, as well as at the Burnaby Arts Centre (which expanded to become the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in 1995). During the past 2 decades, despite working full time, currently as Ceramic Arts Programmer at the Shadbolt Centre, I have continued to maintain a studio, producing limited works in clay and have remained passionate about all aspects of the ceramic arts
Now retired, after 27 years of programming ceramics - I have returned to a full time studio practice, as of June 2017 |
